“So universal is the belief in spiritual influences, and more especially in their malignant influences, that no race of men, no period of time, no region of the globe, have been exempt from it. It meets us in the remote antiquity of Asiatic life, in the comparatively recent barbarism of the American aborigines, in the creeds of all the nations who branched off thousands of years ago eastward and westward from their Caucasian cradle, in the myths, the observances, and the dialects of nations who have no other affinity with one another than the mere form of man.”
Simply put, mystics, witches and spirituality of all sorts has been around since the dawn of time. At times these individuals were praised for their intuition and wisdom. A kind of wisdom that transcends time. Yet, as fear can sometimes dictate, there was a great oppression. A time when things that were not explainable to those whose minds were not yet open, cast out and suffocated those who had timeless insight.
I would like to believe this is changing or maybe it is just that we are coming together with more like-minded people. There is strength in numbers and not just a physical barrier but a confidence and security that emits strength; a radiance or aura that holds our heads higher and our shoulders straighter; one that may not make us bullet-proof but gives our skin a smooth coat allowing our defenses to be stronger. Because I know that the stronger we feel, the more those who are afraid will try to put chinks in the armor. United and together our circle grows and our senses strengthen.
As our senses grow so does the light that will one day brighten the darkness.
Hold your head up high and shine – the dawn
is here.
